Tinker foals, also called Gypsy Horse foals, are born with the breed's trademark piebald coloring and leg feathering already starting to show. The breed was developed by Irish Travellers who crossed draft horses with native ponies to create the perfect caravan-pulling companion. Tinker horses are nicknamed "the dog horse" for their exceptionally gentle and loyal personality — perfect traits that show even in the youngest foals.
